The Beard - Week 6+

Home sick today, so I thought I'd do a bit of mid-afternoon blogging between naps. The beard is now a whopping 45 days old. Wanna see what it looks like?

Voila:

Lookin' might gray, ain't it? I should be in one of those "Just For Men For Beards" ads with Keith Hernandez, Clyde Frazier, and Emmit Smith. Lord knows I could use the endorsement bucks. On the bright side, I get a kinda cool Fu Manchu effect because my moustache is still a bit darker than the rest.

So whaddya think, folks? Should it stay or should it go? Monique and I are flying off to San Diego on Friday morning and my plan all along has been to shave once I am again exposed to sunshine and above-freezing temperatures. On the other hand, I could extend its lifespan by another month. The idea of keeping the beard until the Spring Equinox also has some appeal. I could just refuse to shave from Winter Solstice to Spring Equinox as a symbol of mourning for the sun!

One more point of comparison. Which napping-on-the-couch beast is furrier?

I'd call it a toss-up.

  1. From what I've heard of Katie the Beagle's breath, I'm surprised you'd get that close to her mouth.

  2. 45 Days? It looks like is 45 years old. Thats right I am saying the beard looks older then you do.

Shave it before you hit the sunshine of San Diego lest ye be mistaken for a homeless guy on the beach.

  3. The "homeless guy" look probably comes from whatever viral crud has me down today. It's given my eyes that oh-so-attractive phlegmy twinkle.
