Friday Doggerel, by Mary Campbell-Droze

What Katie do, what Katie did!
She didn't star in Frank's 'El Cid'!
She often listens to her id!
Because of her, Bun's always hid!
In the yard she sometimes pid-
dles---to the side, not in the mid-
dle! Kate, to you we tip our lid!
Should she go up for a bid
She's worth more than 50 quid!
Of her we shall ne'er get rid!

--Mary Campbell-Droze

Mary adds: "True, this is not in haiku form, but the Katie The Beagle Free-Pay Outsourcing Paradigm means that results aren't always what one anticipates."

To that I say that the Katie The Beagle Free-Pay Outsourcing Paradigm is based on the concept that the free-ness of content is far more important than its format, quality, genuine accuracy, or even its truthiness. So we're on safe ground here. I also note the figure "50 quid" in that poem. I'm sure that adds to our ability to monetize this free content, though I'm not quite sure how.

Sure, I've only racked up $1.20 from Google AdWords for the last week, but with the new paradigm that's all puuuuuuure profit, baby.

  1. Just "repurposing" the e-mail thread that followed the submission as a comment, in a blatant attempt to make it seem that more people read and comment this blog than may truly be the case.

Which gives us the following Katie The Beagle Free-Pay Outsourcing Paradigm profit formula:

    15 Minutes of Fame x $1.20 = 18 smackaroos ≥ 0

This might not be strictly mathematical, but then I was an English major, anyway.

This sort of witty response is supposed to go in the "comments" section of the blog entry, the better to drive the monetization of your contributions. Go post it there instead of living in the past and e-mailing it. What is this, 2003?
